Meet the Team

Hi Everyone! My name is Shalla (pronounced Shay-la) and I am the photographer and owner for Eye Sugar Photography. My style of photography is lifestyle….which means photojournalistic with a touch of fashion flair….I am not a sit and say cheese kind of gal.  I love capturing candid, real moments and I believe that a picture truly is worth a thousand words.  I LOVE my job and I LOVE being a part of your lives!  I love capturing every moment from Birth through Weddings and between.  I have an amazing team that really helps me do all that I do.  I am a very lucky gal in that every day I get to live out my dream.  Who could ask for more!?!?
If you haven’t worked with me yet, I think the things my clients would say is that I am full of energy, crazy ideas and ….the word fabulous is my favorite though lately it is tied with perfect.  I am an insomniac and am a bit of a workaholic…so you may see some emails from me at 3am!
I am obsessed with creating the best images that I can.  I love texture, color and light….I love the science behind a great picture and I love figuring out new ways to light up a set or work with the sun to create amazing images.  I am really proud of the fact that I have won a national award for my child photography, my wedding work has made the cover of several wedding magazines (OMG – ITS STILL SURREAL!), I have shot 4 editorial shoots for wedding magazines (the multi-page center spreads that have gorgeous people in beautiful locations looking oh so fabulous – again OMG!), seen my work featured in baby magazines, and had so many real weddings featured in wedding magazines. I am always looking to push the limit and create something new and exciting…I feel like I was born to do it!
I am a fitness FUN-atic….and I have a passion for helping other women meet their true potential…through health and finding happiness.  Aren’t we all in the pursuit of true daily happiness??
In my off time I love to travel….I want to see so many places in this big, beautiful world…and I have an ongoing bucket list for what I want to see, do, learn and accomplish.  Its never-ending…I feel my life (and everyone’s) should always be under construction…I am always pushing myself to learn something new…try something that may have terrified me and everyday I  try to work on becoming my best self.  I have a fabulous husband who is the glue to our lives in our household and two fabulous girls who are growing up right before my very eyes.

Currently my passion is hiking…this get’s me fitness and seeing the world in one! I am currently working on completing my 52WAV patch and NH48 in one calendar year.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family…and watching them grow!  I know how important it is to capture each stage in their lives and I feel so grateful that you have chosen me to do it!

You will meet one of these fabulous ladies at some point during your Eye Sugar Experience.  They keep everything running behind the scenes!
Megan met me at a friends boudoir shoot…we clicked instantly and she hired me to shoot her wedding…she was my very first wedding and it was love at first click!  After the I Do’s, she came to work for me in 2010 and the rest is history.  She deals with all of the back of the house needs and will be your helper with ordering and design needs.
Katie has been with us for a few years after we shot her wedding.  She now has a baby girl who is adorably cute and super smiley.  Katie deals with a lot of the back of the house needs.  You may also see her assisting with a baby or newborn shoot and she is queen of organizing the messy prop closet.
Lydia joined our team in 2013.  Its crazy to say I first met Lydia when I shot her Senior Pictures!  She then hired us to shoot her wedding…which led to maternity, birth and newborn portraits.  Lydia had her second baby and is out on hiatus enjoying her girls currently.
These ladies LOVE what they do and love to help you in anyway they can…
